Life and intensified regeneration technology of macroporous resins in extracting and purifying puerarin and total flavonoids from pueraria lobata

Abstract
    [Objective] To study the life and intensified regeneration technology of HPD-200A macroporous resins in purifying puerarin and puerarin flavonoids. [Methods] With the adsorption capacity and purity of puerarin and total flavonoids as indexes, the absorption capacity of HPD-200A macroporous resins which were multiple absorbed and intensified regenerated was studied. [Results] First, the adsorption capacity of puerarin and total flavonoids was about 17.29 g/L and 46.00 g/L, respectively. Their adsorption capacity became 82.26% and 80.99% of the original and the purity was 27.23% and 67.99% after HPD-200A macroporous resin was used continuously for 11 times. With 95% glycol regeneration, the adsorption capacity of HPD-200A macroporous resins for puerarin and total flavonoids could reach above 94.35% and 91.87%, the purity was more than 97% of the new resin. [Conclusion] With HPD-200A macroporous resin refining puerarin, new resin can be used for 11 times continuously. When regenerated with 95% ethanol, it can be used at least three times again, that is, the HPD-200A resin can be used at least for 14 times.
