| Abstract
|
| [Objective] To investigate the protective effects of SMB in rats with pulmonary arterial hypertension caused by MCT. [Methods] Thirty male rats were randomly divided into three groups:normal control group, PAH group, SMB group. The rats in PAH group and SMB group were injected with a single subcutaneous MCT(50 mg/kg)respectively to induce the models of vascular remodeling of pulmonary artery. The rats in these 3 groups were fed in the same condition. After 3 weeks, SMB group was injected with SMB[200 mg/(kg·d)] intraperitoneally. Nothing was given in normal control group. The microstructure changes of small arterial were determined and observed two weeks later. [Results] MT,MT%,MA% and VA% of pulmonary arterial in SMB group were compared with those of pulmonary arterial in PAH group and control group respectively, and there was a statistical difference (P<0.05). [Conclusion] To some degree, SMB can reverse the progression of the pulmonary arteries remodeling, decrease effectively PAH, then repair the monocrotaline damaged lung. |
