| Abstract

| [Objective] To study the clinical effect of Xuefu Zhuyu capsule on the blood stasis syndrome in patients with malignant cancer by the traditional Chinese treatment method of activating blood circulation and removing stasis. [Methods] The 72 patients suffered from histologically proven malignant cancer were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 36 cases for each group. Patients in treatment group received Xuefu Zhuyu capsule, 2.4 g, twice a day for 28 days while received supportive treatment in control group. The efficacy indexes of the Chinese traditional treatment method of activating blood circulation and removing stasis were compared before and after treatment. [Results] The each curative parameters of TCM syndrome of blood stasis were follow: the efficacy indexes of stitch or pain, having a given place were 3.3 ± 1.5. Dark purple tongue with ecchymosis or petechiae was 3.3 ± 1.6. Uneven pulse or no pulse was 3.2 ± 1.4. Squamous and dry skin was 3.8 ± 1.7. Body numbness or hemiplegia was 3.3 ± 1.4 and forgetfulness was 3.1 ± 1.4 in treatment group, which were statistically lower than that in control group (4.2±1.5, 4.3±1.7, 4.2±1.6, 5.6±2.3, 4.0±1.6 and 4.3±1.7 respectively) after treatment (P<0.05). [Conclusion] Xuefu Zhuyu capsule can effectively alleviate traditional Chinese medicine syndrome of Qi stagnation and blood stasis in patients with malignant cancer. |
