Abstract
[Objective] To establish an HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of forsythoside A, forsythoside B, astragalin, forsythin, arctiin, quercetin and arctigenin in Medicinal and non-medicinal parts of Forsythia suspensa. [Methods] The analysis was performed on an Agilent Eclipse Plus C18(4.6×100 mm, 1.8 μm). The mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile and 0.1% formic acid with gradient elution. The detection wavelength was set at 280 nm. The flow rate was 0.3 mL/min at column temperature of 30℃. [Results] Forsythoside A, forsythoside B, astragalin, forsythin, arctiin, quercetin and arctigenin were well separated by HPLC and showed a good linearity ranges. The average recoveries of the seven components were 100%, 99.1%, 104%, 104%, 98.4%, 99.0% and 103% and the RSD values were 2.27%, 1.59%, 1.94%, 1.25%, 2.97%, 2.10% and 2.67%, respectively. [Conclusion] A rapid and simple HPLC method was established to simultaneously determine the contents of the seven components in Forsythia suspense, which provides a scientific basis for the quality control of Forsythia suspense.
