Reliability and validity of questionnaire about five viscerae health based on function identification of Zang Fu-organs in TCM

Abstract
    [Objective] To establish a self-evaluated questionnaire about the health condition of five viscerae, screen and optimize the en-tries and test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. [Methods] Under the guiding of TCM theory and according to the physiolog-ic functions and the pathologic manifestations of five viscerae system the self-evaluated questionnaire was established and the reliability and validity were investigated pre-clinically. [Results] Based on the theory of heart-small intestine system, the liver-gallbladder system, spleen-stomach system, lung-large intestine system and kidney-urinary bladder system 25 entries were established in the questionnaire about the health of five viscerae. The clinical survey response rate was 82.43%. The reliability of Alpha was 0.783. Guttman Split-Half Coefficient was 0.777, KMO=0.76, Spherical test=1 554.78, P<0.05. The results showed in 9 dimensions and the cumulative contribution was 59.15%. [Conclusion] The questionnaire about the health of five viscerae possessed a good reliability and validity, suitable for the application in the investigation of the function and health condition of Zang and Fu in TCMindividually.
