Abstract
|
[Objective] To establish a model of fatty liver induced by fat-rich diet in rats, observe the effect of the traditional Chinese medicine of Ditan Sanjie(clearing away phlegm and dispersing the accumulation), Huoxue Ruanjian(activating blood circulation and softening the hard mass) on the expression of IL-6, SOD and discuss the mechanism of Ditan Sanjie, Huoxue Ruanjian method. [Methods] Sixty male Wistar rats (SPF level) were randomly divided into 4 groups according to the weight: control group(n=14), fed normal diet; model group(n=18), fed fat-rich diet; traditional Chinese medicine high-dose group(n=14), fed fat-rich diet; traditional Chinese medicine low-dose group(n=14), fed fat-rich diet. Four of model control group were randomly killed 8 weeks later. Low-dose group and high-dose group were fed with Chinese herbs for 8 weeks. Model group and control group were fed with isotonic Na chloride. All of the rats were weighted every week, 8 weeks after treatment and all of the rats were killed. The serum levels of IL-6 and SOD were detected by ELISA method. [Results] The serum levels of IL-6 in rat of high-dose group and low-dose group showed highly significant difference compared with model group (P<0.01). The comparison between high-dose group and low-dose group showed significant difference (P<0.05). The serum levels of SOD in rats showed highly significant difference between high-dose group and model group (P<0.01) and showed significant difference between low-dose group and model group(P<0.05). The comparison of serum SOD showed no statistically significance between high-dose group and low-dose group (P>0.05). [Conclusion] Tthe traditional Chinese medicine of Ditan Sanjie, Huoxue Ruanjian can significantly decrease the serum levels of IL-6, and significantly increase the serum concentrations of SOD. However, this effect does not show any dose-related trend. |
