Abstract
|
[Objective] To investigate the protective effect of Astragaloside IV (As IV) against liver ischemia and reperfusion injury and the underlying mechanism. [Methods] The 36 SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: sham operation group (Sham group), liver ischemia-reperfusion (I/R group) group and As IV group. The content of ALT and AST were measured by spectrophotometric method. Liver pathological changes were observed by HE staining. Bax and Bcl-2 protein expression was determined by Western blot. [Results] Compared with sham group, the content of ALT and AST was significantly increased, while the Bcl-2 protein expression decreased and the Bax expression increased. Pretreatment of As IV before liver I/R could decrease the content of ALT and AST, Bax expression, and increase the Bcl-2 protein expression (P<0.05). [Conclusion] As IV pretreatment has a protective effect against liver ischemia reperfusion injury, which is partially finished via inhibiting liver cell apoptosis. |
