Abstract
|
[Objective] To study the effects of mulberry leaf extracts to improve insulin resistance of MSG rats. [Methods] The total polysaccharides, total flavonoids and total alkaloid extracts from mulberry leaves as tested drugs. Copy the MSG obese rat models, which were randomly divided into model group, rosiglitazone group, fenofibrate group, two doses of mulberry polysaccharide, two doses of Mulberry flavonoids, two doses of mulberry alkaloid. Then choose 8 normal rats as the normal control group. During the 8 weeks of experiment, performed glucose tolerance and insulin tolerance test. Measure the levels of serum insulin and fasting glucose, then calculate insulin sensitivity index after administration for 8 weeks. [Results] Each of mulberry leaf extracts could inhibit the fasting blood glucose and serum insulin of MSG rats significantly and had a improvement of glucose tolerance, insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index. [Conclusion] The three types of mulberry leaf extracts can significantly reduce the insulin resistance of MSG rats, and provide an experimental evidence for the therapeutic material basis of mulberry leaf to regulate the metabolism of pre-diabetes. |
