Clinical observation on acupuncture of “Xingnao Kaiqiao” combined with “activating blood and divergence wind” on main artery atherosclerosis cerebral infarction

Abstract
    [Objective] By observing effect of acupuncture of “Xingnao Kaiqiao” combined with “activating blood and divergence wind” on main artery atherosclerosis cerebral infarction, to explore effect on main artery atherosclerosis cerebral infarction guiding by “Xingnao Kaiqiao, nourishing the liver and kidney, ascending lucidity and descending the turbid, dredging the meridians”. [Methods] A randomized control study, the March-December in 2014, at The First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine hospitalized patients met the inclusion criteria of cases 358 cases, according to the order of treatment were randomly divided into treatment group 180 cases, 178 cases in the control group, treatment group was treated by “Xingnao Kaiqiao” with “activating blood and divergence wind” acupuncture;the control group was treated by “Xingnao Kaiqiao” acupuncture;treatment for one month, three-month follow-up, while patients were taking Western medicine symptomatic treatment. By observation of NHISS, CCS, SS-QOL scale on 14 days, a month, three-month of treatment, clinical indicators were analyzed before and after treatment between two groups. [Results] The study included 358 cases of patients, the treatment group 180 cases, 178 cases in the control group. Three groups of patients on admission baseline data and NHISS, CSS, SS-QOL index was comparable (P>0.05). But after treatment, NHISS, SS-QOL, CSS change in both groups, the treatment group improved significantly than the control group (P<0.05). [Conclusion] Effect of acupuncture of “Xingnao Kaiqiao” combined with “activating blood and divergence wind” on large artery atherosclerosis in patients with cerebral infarction is better than “Xingnao Kaiqiao” acupuncture simple.
