Abstract
[Objective] To explore the mechanism of Buyang Huanwu decoction(BYHWD) on angiogenes in vulnerable plaque in rabbits. [Methods] The vulnerable plaque model was reproduced by operation on abdominal aorta endothelium for inducing sacculus pull injury with the foraging with high cholesterol lipid feeding. Rabbits were divided into three groups: model group, sham-operation group and BYHWD group. The experiment lasted for 12 weeks. After killing at the end of experiment, the samples of abdominal aorta were collected for HE staining to accounting the number of rupture plaques, using immunofluorescence staining to evaluate the density of microvessels, detecting the protein content of VEGF, bFGF, PDGF in plaque and evaluating the content of VEGF, bFGF, PDGF in the serum of peripheral blood. [Results] It was found that the number of plaque rupture in BYHWD group was obviously less than model group by HE observation(P<0.05).The expression of bFGF, PDGF in plaque in BYHWD was statistically significant(P<0.05), compared with model group and sham-operated group. [Conclusion] BYHWD can stable the vulnerable plaque, and the mechanism may be related to increasing the expression of bFGF, PDGF and then promoting the microvessels maturation in plaque.
