Abstract
As the headstream of pharmacology of traditional Chinese medical formulae, Treatise on Cold-induced Diseases carefully and precisely selects and applies the needle, moxibustion and medicine, and it is the first book that records the applying of both acupuncture(moxibustion) and herbs in clinical practice. There are many aspects of the selection, such as first to select acupuncture then herbs, first moxibustion then herbs, acupuncture only, moxibustion only, herbs only, or combination of acupuncture and herbs. The misuse of acupuncture should be saved inversely by herbal medicine and the reasonable selection of the needle or herbs should according to the severity of diseases. Through organizing and analyzing the relevant sentences in the book, we hope to grasp their respective advantages and the interaction between each other and master the characteristics of the matching of acupuncture (moxibustion) and herbs. All the works we have done is in the interest of providing a reference for the acupuncture clinic.
