Abstract
|
[Objective] To elucidate the mechanism of Gancao polysaccharide (GP) on anti-tumor. [Methods] CT-26 cells were used to set up the tumor-bearing model in mice. The mice were respectively divided into following groups: normal group, model group, GP group (GP i.g, 500 mg/kg), letinan group (letinan i.g, 195 mg/kg) and IL-7 antibody group (GP i.g, 500 mg/kg, IL-7antibody i.p,.0.4 mg/kg on day 0, 5 and 10). After administration of GP for 14 days, the tumor, spleen and thymus were weighted to measure the tumor inhibition rat, spleen index and thymus index. [Results] After the administration of GP for 14 days, the tumor inhibition rate in GP group was 21.56%.The IL-7 gene expression in GP group was upregulated and the serum level of IL-7 was increased in GP group. The tumor inhibition rate and thymus index were decreased in IL-7 antibody group followed by the significant lower IL-7 level in serum in spite of the IL-7 gene expressed in intestine. [Conclusion] This study demonstrated that GP exert significant anti-tumor effect and the mechanism behind the anti-tumor effect may relate to the IL-7 production of intestinal epithelial cells. |
