Abstract
[Objective] To study rapid extraction method and content determination method of total cardiac glycosides from leaves of Thevetia peruviana.[Methods] Using 1H-NMR to content determination of cardiac glycosides, 4 kinds of extraction process, the methanol soaking, 70% ethanol heating refluxing, 70% ethanol soaking, 95% ethanol gentle soaking, were screened.[Results] The 95% ethanol gentle soaking method extracted the highest amount of cardiac glycosides.[Conclusion] The extraction process of 95% ethanol gentle soaking is a better fast extraction method for extracting total cardiac glycoside from leaves of Thevetia peruviana, and content determination of cardiac glycosides can be employed by the 1H-NMR.
