Ancient Literature review of herbal medicine administered to diabetes nephropathy

Abstract
    [Objective] To generalize the regularity of medication for lower consumption and provide ideas for renal diabetes research through the summary and analysis of the medical records in ancient books of diabetes.[Methods] The combined methods of statistical analysis and traditional Chinese medicine theory research were used.[Results] When the ancient physicians treated renal diabetes, the usage frequency of diuretics for eliminating dampness and astringents were 1.68 times and 2.10 times of traditional diabetes medicine treatment respectively. The usage frequency of reinforcing drugs and drug for invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis circulation and removing blood stasis were 1.05 times and 1.31 times of treating diabetes. And frequency of antipyretic agent and diaphoretics significantly reduced comparing with the treating of diabetes.[Conclusion] Diuretics for eliminating dampness, astringents, reinforcing agent and drug for invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis were taken into account in particular, based on ancient and modern treatment principle of diabetes.
