Abstract
|
[Objective] To observe the effect of Xiaoyan decoction on the cachexia of late malignant tumor. [Methods] Eighty-three cases of the cachexia patients were divided into 2 groups, 42 cases in treatment group and 41 cases in control group randomly. Megestrol acetate dispersible tablets were taken orally by the patients of control group. Megestrol acetate dispersible tablets combined with Xiaoyan decoction were taken orally by the patients of treatment group. Three months later, food-intake, Karnofsky performance Score (KPS), fluid retention, adjusted body weight(ABW) and the total lymphocyte count were compared before and after treatment between two groups. [Results] The improvement of KPS, ABW and the increase of food-intake of the treatment group were better than the control group(P<0.05). The fluid retention amount of treatment group was lesser than the control group(P<0.05). In the aspect of biochemical indicators, the treatment was better than the control group(P<0.05). [Conclusion] Xiaoyan decoction can improve the therapeutic effect, nutritional status, the quality of life and reduce the adverse reactions of the cachexia patients of late malignant tumor. |
