Abstract
|
[Objective] To investigate the clinical effect of transurethral resection of the prostate laser vaporization combined with traditional Chinese medicine for elderly patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. [Methods] All 130 patients were treated with transurethral laser vaporization resection, traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis and oral medicine. The operation time, postoperative indwelling catheter time, lower urinary tract symptoms, preoperative and postoperative IPSS score, QOL score, Qmax, residual urine volume, length of hospital stay were observed. [Results] The group of 130 patients were successful surgery. Mean operative time was (69±25) min. The indwelling catheter time was (41±18) h. International prostate symptom score(IPSS) was (9.4 ±2.3) after a month and (7.6±1.2) after 3 months. The postoperative quality of life (QOL), Qmax and rensidual urine were significantly improved. The average length of stay was (7.5±1.3) days. [Conclusion] This method is a safe and effective method in elderly men at high risk prostatic hyperplasia. |
