Abstract
|
The incidence of diabetes increased year by year, and had become one of the serious diseases that endanger human health. Research showed that oxidative stress was closely related to diabetes. The transcription factor NF-E2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is an important transcription factor in the regulation of redox balance, can combine the antioxidant response element (ARE), activate the Nrf2/ARE pathway, regulate the transcription of downstream protection protein genes, reduce the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and play the effects of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. As the most important endogenous antioxidant stress factor, Nrf2 has become a new field in the prevention and treatment of diabetes. This paper reviewed the oxidative stress, Nrf2 and oxidative stress, as well as the relationship between Nrf2 and diabetes mellitus and its complications. |
