Clinical observation of modified Chaige Jieji decoction treating acute infantile tonsillitis

Abstract
    [Objective] To observe the clinical curative effect of modified Chaige Jieji decoction treating acute infantile tonsillitis.[Methods] The 104 cases of acute infantile tonsillitis are divided into two groups according to random number table method. Control group with 52 cases treated by cefamandole to anti-infection, treatment group with 52 cases combined with Chaige Jieji decoction orally on the basis of control group. The course was 5 days. Four cases were deleted in each group during the treatment, so there were 48 cases in each group when analyzing. Clinical curative effect and the changes of symptoms between two groups were compared.[Results] The comprehensive curative effect of treatment group and control group were 97.92% and 87.50% respectively. The clinical cure rates were 56.25% and 35.42% respectively. The comprehensive curative effect and clinical cure rate in treatment group were higher than control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Time of body temperature returned normal, pus point disappeared and sore throat improved in children of treatment groups were shorter than control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).[Conclusion] Clinical effect of modified Chaige Jieji decoction combined cefamandole was curative in treating acute infantile tonsillitis, and the comprehensive effect is better. In the effect of shorten the time of body temperature returned normal, improve the pus point on tonsil and sore throat, it is better than using cefamandole simply.
