Abstract
|
[Objective] To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Chaihu Shugan powder in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).[Methods] CNKI, CBM, VIP and Wanfang data, PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase were searched for the randomized controlled clinical trials of all Chaihu Shugan powder in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, and the time was set from the time when the database was created to October 10, 2016. Meta-analysis was carried out by RevMan 5.3 software, which was used to evaluate the quality of the method and extract valid data.[Results] Eleven studies were eventually included and included a total of 1 288 patients. Meta-analysis showed that Chaihu Shugan powder could significantly improve the total effective rate, markedly effective rate and cure rate in IBS, compared with conventional Western medicine treatment. Total effective rate[OR=4.98, 95% CI(3.56, 6.96), P<0.000 01], cure rate[OR=2.19,95% CI(1.49,3.20), P<0.000 1], significantly effective rate[OR=1.84, 95% CI(1.40, 2.41), P<0.000 1]. And no significant reactions were found.[Conclusion] Chaihu Shugan powder has better clinical efficacy than routine Western medicine in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. However, considering that the quality of the literatures is low, there may be a high risk of bias. So more designs contain a large sample of clinical trials are needed in the hope that we can provide a more reliable clinical evidence-based medicine. |
