Abstract

[Objective] To observe the effect of Allicin on the inflammatory response and renal tissue fibrosis in chronic renal failure (CRF) and to study the protective mechanism of Allicin on CRF rats.[Methods] The CRF rat models were established by intragastric administration of adenine solution[250 mg/(kg·d)] for 21 days, setting model group and allicin[5, 10, 20 mg/(kg·d)] group, n=20; and setting normal control group(n=20). Monitoring indicators of serum renal function were determined, the kidney index was calculated, the pathological changes of renal tissue was observed by HE staining and the Lesion score was determined. The content of inflammatory factors in serum and the content of fibrosis index in surem and in renel tissue were determined.[Results] Compared with model group, the content of BUN, SCr, UA, Pro in serum of allicin 10, 20 mg/(kg·d) groups were significantly reduced; renal index were significantly reduced, Significant improvement of renal tissue lesions, lower renal tissue lesions score; decreased the content of CRP, IL-6, TNF-α in serum, decreased the LN, PC-Ⅲ, C-IV and increased the FN; down-regulating the expression of Col I, PAI-1 and up-regulating the expression of MMP-1; all of the difference above were significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01).[Cnclusion] llicin may play a protective role on CRF rats by inhibiting the renal tissue fibrosis by inhibiting inflammatory response and renal fibrosis. |
