Abstract
This study systematically sorted out the literature related to turbidity and toxin diseases and drug use in the database of CNKI、Wanfang and VIP, so as to guide the dialectical treatment of turbidity and toxin diseases in clonical practice. The results indicated the turbidity and toxin theory focuses on chronic renal failure, diabetes and hyperuricemia and their complications, and chronic gastritis. In turbidity and toxin syndrome, the tongue is red or dark red, the tongue coat was yellow and sticky, and the pulse was Huashuo (slippery, rolling and rapid) or Xianhua (long and tense). The common herbs and herb combinations were listed that are able to dispel turbidity and toxin, and eliminate dampness-phlegm and blood stagnation, and clear heat. This study provides novel insights into the syndrome differentiation and treatment on turbidity and toxin syndrome.
