Protective effect of Tongfu Xiefei method on intestinal barrier of ALI/ARDS rats

Abstract
    [Objective] To explore the protective effect Tongfu Xiefei herbs on the intestinal barrier of ALI/ARDS rats.[Methods] The 27 rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group and traditional Chinese medicine group, with 9 rats in each group. Endotoxin 8 mg/kg was injected into the tail vein of the model group and the traditional Chinese medicine group. The blank group was injected with normal saline in the rats. After the model was completed, the traditional Chinese medicine group was given the traditional Chinese medicine for diarrhea and diarrhea. Each time was 0.01 mL/g, once a day, for a total of 7 days. The blank group and the model group were given the same amount of normal saline for gastric perfusion. The intestinal tissue injury in each group was observed by pathological sections. The levels of D-lactic and DAO in blood plasma were detected by ELISA. The expression of NF-κB, P65 and TLR4 in lung tissue was detected by immunohistochemical staining.[Results] Severe pathological damage was observed in the intestinal tissue of the rats in the model group, and the pathological damage of the intestinal tissue of the rats in the Chinese medicine group was reduced. The plasma D-lactic acid and DAO in the model group were significantly increased, and the plasma D-lactic acid and DAO were decreased in the Chinese medicine group. The expression of NF-κB P65 and TLR4 protein in the intestinal tissue of the rat model group increased, and the expression of NF-κB P65 and TLR4 protein in the Chinese medicine group decreased significantly.[Conclusion] Tongfu Xiefei herbs on inflammatory cytokine release in the pathological process of ALI/ARDS inhibit the ischemia and hypoxia of ALI/ARDS improve intestinal mucosa, increase intestinal perfusion, reduce cell damage of intestinal mucosa, reduce the intestinal permeability and the protective effect on the intestinal mucosal barrier.
