| Abstract

| Warm disease can make patients thirsty, because of yin injured by pathogenic heat. However, sometimes patients appear hydroadipsia, when the disease is in the stage of yingfen and xuefen. WU Jutong, a famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor, living in Qing Dynasty, explains that the pathogenic heat in yingfen can steam and rise the body fluid to the mouth. This explaination is accepted by most specialists, but WU Jutong maybe give strained interpretations and draw farfetched analogies after a long-term deliberation. In this paper, we will illustrate that the reason of hydroadipsia during the stage of yingfen and xuefen in warm disease, by analyzing the YE Tianshi's medical cases and classics. The essence is perhaps the dysfunction of heart controlling mental activities, and then human body cannot recognition the deficiency of body fluid. |
