Abstract

Secondary epilepsy is also called symptomatic epilepsy, the incidence of this disease has increased gradually in recent years. However, the efficacy of traditional antiepileptic drugs is not satisfactory, and the side effects remain challenging. By contrast, Chinese medicine has shown a better performance in treating secondary epilepsy. Doctor GU Xizhen is a famous expert in encephalopathy of Chinese medicine who has gained a lot of clinical experiences in this disease. This article recorded 2 patients with secondary epilepsy treated by Professor GU Xizhen, and summarized his experiences in order to provide ideas for clinical application of Chinese medicine in treating secondary epilepsy. |
