Abstract
|
[Objective] To study the Clinical efficacy of scorpion and centipede granule in the treatment of refractory asthma.[Methods] The 78 patients with refractory asthma were randomly assigned to the control and treatment groups. Both groups were treated with amitol/fluticasone inhalation, the control group were given tiotropium bromide inhalation in addition, while the treatment group were given scorpion and centipede Chinese medicine granule. Both groups were treated for 12 weeks. Asthma control test (ACT),lung function,short-term remission drug dosage, exhaled nitric oxide concentration (FeNO)and safety indicators such as blood test and liver and kidney function in the two groups were observed before and after treatment.[Results] After treatment,ACT score increased,short-acting drug use decreased, and FeNO concentration decreased in both two groups. But the improvement degree of the treatment group was significantly better than the control group (P<0.05). Lung function was also improved after treatment in the two groups, but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). All the safety indicators were in the normal range after treatment in both groups.[Conclusion] Treatment of refractory asthma with scorpion and centipede granule (3g/day,for 12 weeks) can improve clinical symptoms and lung function, reduce airway inflammation, and has no toxic and side effects. |
