Abstract
|
[Objective] Menopause due to decreased levels of estrogen, causing various physiological and pathological changes in the human body, including vaginal tissue. To evaluate the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) in the vaginal tissues of women of childbearing age, perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, and to provide assistance for the treatment of menopausal urogenital diseases.[Methods] The 61 cases of vaginal or abdominal hysterectomy for benign gynecological diseases between November 2016 and November 2017 were collected (24 in childbearing age,18 in postmenopausal women and 19 in postmenopausal women). Anterior wall tissue was used to detect the expression of ERα and ERβ mRNA and protein in the anterior vaginal tissue of the three groups using real. time quantitative polymERαse chain reaction (QPCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC).[Results] The expressions of ERα and ERβ were found in the three groups of vaginal wall tissues, and there were significant differences in the expression of ERα and ERβ in the three groups. The expression level of ERα in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women was significantly lower than that in women of childbearing age (P<0.05),and the expression level of ERα in postmenopausal women was significantly lower than that in perimenopausal women (P<0.05);perimenopause and menopause. The expression level of ERβ in women was significantly higher than that in women of childbearing age (P<0.05),and the expression level of ERβ in postmenopausal women was significantly higher than that in perimenopausal women (P<0.05).[Conclusion] Menopause affects the expression of ER in vaginal tissue, and the difference in the expression of ER in vaginal tissues from normal vaginal period of childbearing age to atrophic vaginal tissue during postmenopausal and late menopause may be related to the decrease of menopausal estrogen levels. |
