| Abstract

| ZHANG Zengying considers that the pathogenesis of subacute thyroiditis (SAT) is caused by long-term emotional internal injuries leading to brain loss of nourishing,the invasion of exogenous pathogenic of noxious wind-heat carrying phlegm,resulting in the symptoms of goiter and pain in front of neck. Professor ZHANG summarized the treatment of SAT into acute and chronic stages. It has achieved good clinical effect by using the prescription in acute stage which has the function of heat-clearing and detoxifying,brain-nourishing and heart-calming,kidney and liver-nourishing. The prescriptions in chronic stage divided into hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism which have the function of brain-nourishing and heart-calming,kidney and liver-nourishing and the function of brain-nourishing and heart-calming,blood circulation-promoting and collaterals-dredging respectively. |
