Abstract
[Objective] To observe the clinical efficacy of Xiaoyan Decoction on the postoperative maintenance period of thyroid cancer.[Methods] Thirty patients with thyroid cancer were randomly Divided into the treatment group and the control group. Fifteen patients in the treatment group were treated with Xiaoyan Decoction combined with levothyroxine sodium tablets;Fifteen patients in the control group were treated with levothyroxine sodium tablets alone. The quality of life scores, serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH),serum thyroglobulin (TG),serum free triiodothyronine (FT3),serum free thyroxine (FT4) and immune function indicators (T lymphocyte subsets) were measured before and after treatment.[Results] Compared with the control group, the clinical symptom improvement rate of the treatment group was significantly improved (P<0.01). Compared with before treatment, the patients in the treatment group had significant decrease in blood TSH and TG values (P<0.01),immune function indicators[total T cells (CD3+),T-assisted/induced lymphocytes (CD3+/CD4+),T-inhibitory/toxic lymphoids cells (CD3+/CD8+),B lymphocytes (CD3-/CD19+),and NK lymphocytes (CD3-/CD16+56+)] were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01).[Conclusion] In the maintenance treatment period of patients with thyroid cancer,Xiaoyan Decoction can reduce the side effects of endocrine therapy after thyroid cancer surgery, improve the body's immune function after thyroid cancer surgery, prevent the risk of thyroid cancer recurrence and improve the quality of life of patients.
