Abstract
Novel coronavirus pneumonia belongs to the category of "plague" and "damp plague" in traditional Chinese medicine. According to its clinical manifestations and disease characteristics, combined with traditional Chinese medicine theory,we believe that the cause is plague and dampness toxin, the disease location is mainly in the lung and spleen, and the nature of disease is mainly dampness, mixed with cold and heat, and the reality is mixed. The pathogenesis is prominently related to lung and spleen. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment is divided into four stages:initial, intermediate, severe and recovery. The main treatments are ventilating lung, removing toxin, invigorating spleen for eliminating dampness. In the initial stage, ventilating lung with suppressing cough and resolving dampness with aromatics were mainly used. In theintermediate stage, freeing lung and relieving asthma, purging fu-organs to detoxify were focused. Warming yang and secure patient from collapse in severe stage. The recovery period is mainly based on strengthening spleen, supplementing lung, and dampening the dampness.
