Abstract
Chronic venous insufficiency is a common peripheral vascular disease. On the basis of combing the thoughts of syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine in past dynasties, combined with the understanding of modern medicine and clinical observation, the author discusses the relationship between this kind of diseases and dampness from three aspects:the origin of dampness, the concrete manifestation and treatment of dampness in chronic insufficiency diseases. It is believed that dampness,as an important pathogenic factor and pathological product of the disease, runs through the whole process of the disease and is closely related to the formation of the disease. In the treatment, attention should be paid to the discrimination of dampness, its nature, origin, characteristics of disease and syndrome, etc.,and multiple methods should be selected to eliminate dampness.
