Abstract
|
[Objective] To explore the clinical effect and safety of acupoint embedding combined with strengthening the spleen and soothing the liver on irritable bowel syndrome-diarrheal (IBS-D) of liver depression and spleen deficiency.[Methods] The 40 patients with IBS-D (syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency) from April to June 2018 were randomly divided into treatment group (20 cases) and control group (20 cases). The control group was treated with Chinese medicine granules,2 bags one day, continuously for 2 weeks. On this basis, patients in the treatment group received acupoint embedding therapy once a week for 2 consecutive weeks. IBS-SSS,traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms and IBS-QOL were evaluated before and 2 weeks after treatment, and serum 5-HT was detected and adverse reactions were recorded.[Results] The comparison of IBS-SSS score and clinical efficacy,TCM symptom score and clinical efficacy, and IBS-QOL score showed that both groups were better after treatment than before (P<0.05),and the comparison between two groups showed that the treatment group was better than the control group (P<0.05). After 2 weeks, serum 5-HT content of patients in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). No adverse reactions occurred in either group.[Conclusion] Acupoint embedding combined with liver soothing and anti-depression therapy can effectively reduce IBS-SSS and TCM symptom scores of patients with IBS-D of liver depression and spleen deficiency, improve clinical efficiency and IBS-QOL score, ameliorate quality of life, and reduce serum 5-HT content without adverse reactions. |
