Abstract
[Objective] To study the healing effect and mechanism of abdominal massage on the ethanol-induced gastric mucosal injury in rats.[Methods] The rat model of gastric mucosal injury was reproduced by absolute ethanol gavage. The rats were randomly divided into abdominal massage group and model group, and a blank control group was set up. The abdominal massage group was given massage intervention every day,and the model group and the blank control group were not given any intervention. After 21 days of intervention, the behavioral changes of rats were observed. The gastric tissues were taken to observe the damage and pathological changes of the gastric mucosal tissues of rats. The contents of TNF-α,IL-6,and EGF in the gastric mucosal tissues were determined by ELISA.[Results] The twisting reaction and open-field testof rats in the abdominal massage group were improved. The model control group had more serious visible damage to the gastric mucosa, while the damage to the gastric mucosa was reduced after the intervention of abdominal massage. The pathology showed that the gastric mucosa of rats in the blank control group was intact, and the gastric mucosa of rats in the model group was obviously damaged, with inflammatory cell infiltration, while the gastric mucosa of rats in the abdominal massage group was less damaged. Compared with the blank control group, the secretion of TNF-α and IL-6 in the model group was significantly increased, and the content of EGF was significantly decreased. After the intervention of abdominal massage, the inflammatory factors were decreased and EGF was significantly increased.[Conclusion] Abdominal massage can reduce the content of TNF-α and IL-6 in gastric mucosa, increase the content of EGF,and promote the healing of ethanol-induced gastric mucosal injury in rats.
