| Abstract

| CAO Keguang,a famous Chinese medicine expert,thinks that the foot disease caused by diabetes and gout can be classified as metabolic related foot disease,which has obvious similarities in the evolution of traditional Chinese medicine etiology and pathogenesis,and there are many similarities in the treatment of the two diseases. "Congenital endowment deficiency" "acquired diet fatigue" and "invasion of exogenous evil" are the three common causes of the two diseases. "Dampness,phlegm,turbidity and toxicity" are important links in the pathogenesis evolution of the two diseases. The methods of "eliminating dampness" "eliminating phlegm" "removing turbidity" and "detoxifying" should be applied in symptomatic treatment. External treatment with Chinese medicine characteristics can be comprehensively applied to the affected part of the foot. |
