Abstract
|
This paper summarizes Professor ZHAO Kun's experience in treating refractory asthma in children. This recurrent, complex and lingering disease can mainly attributed to Kenang in the lung, which is formed by intermingled phlegm and blood, and furthermore, a long course of disease consumes yang-qi in the body, eventually leading to kidney-yang deficiency. Therefore, Kenang in the lung and exhausted kidney-yang are the primary pathology for asthma patients, and these two factors are always influenced each other and are reciprocal causation. Regarding to treatment, Professor ZHAO Kun takes "deficiency and excess" as an outline, addresses "both the symptoms and root causes" and put forward the principle of "breaking the Kenang and replenishing kidney-yang". For medicine, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, Descurainia Sophia, Sparganii Rhizoma, Curcumae Rhizoma, which aims to remove phlegm and stasis, are selected to dredge the meridians in the lung and promote the spread of yangqi. Additionally, drugs such as Fuzi, Lurong, Yangqishi are used to nourish the kidney yang and eliminate the root of the disease, so that phlegm and stasis lost their source. This therapy has significant efficiency in treating refractory asthma in children. A case is reported to validate its amazing efficiency. |
