Abstract
    Based on the quality management needs of Chinese medicine pharmaceutical production, this paper discusses the application of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) in the pharmaceutical technical field of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and analyze the technical work of LIBS technology and technical advantages. LIBS has the advantages of convenience, fast and high accuracy to fully meet the demand of quality management of TCM pharmaceutical production. On the base of its characteristics, LIBS has been employed into four areas of technologyincluding quality inspection of raw materials, the quality control of manufacturing process, production quality control and the technology of combining with other spectra. These applications demonstrate the potential of combining LIBS technology with TCM. Characteristics of TCM self-complex ingredients limits LIBS technology. This manuscript summarizes two technical breakthroughs of its specific application. One is to combine LIBS with stoichiometric methods to achieve accurate spectral resolution of fingerprints of inorganic ions. The other is to enhance the technique of combining with other spectra to improve detection accuracy. From what has been discussed above, theactual application of this technology of quality controlin the field of TCM intelligent manufacturing processcould provide reference.
