Abstract
|
Alzheimer's disease has been identified for more than a century, and the number of patients has increased gradually. Nevertheless, there is no clear and effective medication which can cure the disease in clinical practice. Modern medicine's understanding of its pathogenesis and causes is still at the hypothesis stage. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) thinks Alzheimer's disease belongs to the range of "dementia, amnesia" and many Chinese doctors in different dynasties have discussed its pathogenesis and treatment. Holistic concept is the guiding ideology of TCM theory, which has unique advantages to analyse diseases. Based on holistic concept of TCM,this paper will explore and analyze the aetiology and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease from the viewpoint of "the congenital foundation-spleen" "the acquired foundation-kidney" "qi" and "blood",in order to guide clinical treatment. |
