Abstract
[Objective] To analyze the basic information of the literature related to the field of acupuncture and moxibustion based on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology, and to understand the current status and development trend of the field. [Methods] We searched China Knowledge Network(CNKI),VIP,Wanfang Data, and Web of Science databases to collect relevant literature from the database to June 2022,and analyzed the annual publication volume, journal distribution, author units, highly cited literature, and keyword co-existence according to the set criteria. The annual number of publications, journal distribution, author affiliation, highly cited literature and keywords were analyzed. [Results] The overall trend of the number of English and Chinese publications is increasing. Authors were mainly from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The most frequently cited papers were related to acupuncture points such as neiguan, shenmen, siguan, zusanli, yanglingquan and hegu, with the highest citation frequency of 157 times. A total of 36 high-frequency keywords (≥ 20) were dominated by acupuncture, magnetic resonance imaging, functional magnetic resonance imaging, electroacupuncture, and brain. English literature:the journals are distributed in 197 journals such as Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine;Authors are mainly from comprehensive and western medical universities;the highly cited papers are scattered, involving "pain", "different brain functional areas" and "different brain functional areas",with the highest citation frequency of 528 times;the keywords were mainly 29 high-frequency keywords (≥ 20),such as acupuncture, functional MRI,pain, functional connectivity and electroacupuncture. [Conclusion] The application of MRI technology in the field of acupuncture is mostly focused on exploring the central mechanism of acupuncture action. China has a certain influence in this field, but the Chinese literature still lacks high-quality articles and the overall influence is insufficient. In the future,we not only need to improve the quality of the published literature on current research hotspots, but also need to strengthen multidisciplinary communication and expand our research scope.
