Abstract
|
Icariin is one of the main active ingredients of natural Chinese medicine epimedium. Several studies have shown that icariin has anti-vascular smooth muscle cell migration and proliferation, inhibition of inflammatory response,anti-oxidative stress response,anti-programmed cell death, inhibition of endothelial interstitialization,anti-pulmonary vascular remodelling, and anti-myocardial fibrosis can prevent cardiovascular diseases by regulating targets in multiple signal transduction pathways. In this paper, the mechanism of action of icariin in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases will be summarized to provide a reference for the development of new clinical drugs. |
