| Abstract
|
| [Objective] To observe the clinical efficacy and immune function of modified Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction in the treatment of elderly patients with community-acquired pneumonia of phlegm heat blocking the lung. [Methods] The 80 elderly patients with community-acquired pneumonia aged 60 to 85 years were randomly divided into two groups. The 40 cases in the control group were treated with routine western medicine，and 40 cases in the treatment group were treated with modified Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction Combined with routine western medicine. The clinical CURB-65 score，clinical efficacy，C-reactive protein （CRP），white blood cell count （WBC），percentage of neutrophils，CD3+，CD4+/CD8+，serum immune protein IgG，IgA，IgM levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. [Results] The effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group （P<0.05）；the CURB-65 score of patients in the two groups decreased significantly compared with that before treatment （P<0.05），and the treatment group was superior to the control group （P<0.05）；the percentage of CRP，WBC and neutrophil in the two groups after treatment decreased compared with that before treatment （P<0.05），and the decrease in the treatment group was more significant （P<0.05）；the CD4+/CD8+，IgG and IgM indexes of patients in both groups increased after treatment （P<0.05）；The CD3+ indexes of patients in the treatment group also improved after treatment compared with those before treatment （P<0.05），at the same time，the increase of these four immune indexes in the treatment group was better than that in the control group （P<0.05）；there was no significant change in IgA indexes of the two groups before and after treatment （P>0.05）. [Conclusion] Modified Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction can effectively alleviate the main clinical symptoms of elderly patients with community-acquired pneumonia of phlegm heat blocking the lung，and has good clinical efficacy. It can not only effectively inhibit the inflammatory response，but also improve the immune function of the body. |
