| Abstract

| Rheumatoid arthritis is a common chronic autoimmune disease，its pathogenesis is still unclear，and it is hard to cure. In China，traditional Chinese medicine is often used to treat rheumatoid arthritis following the principle of “treating the same disease differently”. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of treating rheumatoid arthritis，and its effect is remarkable，the characteristics of multi targets and multi components of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions make them more effective in relieving the inflammatory symptoms of patients with their corresponding syndromes. In recent years，the relationship between traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine has been increasingly deepened. The wide application of modern medical technology in the treatment of RA with traditional Chinese medicine not only makes the differences between different syndromes of RA clearer，and the diagnosis of diseases by traditional Chinese medicine more accurate，but also made great progress in the research on the clinical，pharmacodynamic biological and therapeutic mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions for rheumatoid arthritis indications. This article reviews the representative prescriptions for treating rheumatoid arthritis and their research progress based on the principle of “treating the same disease differently” and “syndrome differentiation” in traditional Chinese medicine. |
