Abstract
Systematically review and analyze the application and funding status, main diseases involved, research hotspots, and research ideas of three types of conventional projects in the cardiovascular field of the National Natural Science Foundation of China,Western Medicine General Project,Youth Science Foundation Project, and Regional Science Foundation Project in 2022. The results show that the main diseases studied in the two fields are similar, and the research hotspots are basically the same. They mainly focus on atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, secondary myocardial injury and arrhythmia, and mainly carry out research on epigenetics, exosomes, pyroptosis or iron death, autophagy, intestinal microbiota, and mitochondrial function, showing diversified characteristics of thinking. However, the cardiovascular field of Western medicine has a wider range of diseases, including diseases not covered by traditional Chinese medicine such as heart transplantation. In terms of scientific problem orientation and research content, the field of traditional Chinese medicine cardiovascular disease requires that under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine theory, the key scientific problems in the field of traditional Chinese medicine should be solved as the guidance, reflecting the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine. In addition, research hotspots are only technical means to explore scientific issues, and scientific problems should be deeply condensed to avoid blindly pursuing the combination of research hotspots, which may lack innovative ideas and scientific basis. Original basic research should be encouraged.
