Abstract
|
Cognitive impairment has become a common disorder affecting the health of the elderly population, and there is still a lack of effective treatments. The microbiota-gut-brain axis(MGBA) provides a new perspective for understanding cognitive disorders and a new direction for future clinical diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders. Therefore, this paper discusses the role of MGBA in the pathogenesis of cognitive disorders from the perspective of MGBA,and also summarizes the latest research progress in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of cognitive disorders in this perspective. The results show that MGBA can affect the development of cognitive disorders through immune, neural and endocrine pathways. At the same time, related herbal compounds, herbal monomers and acupuncture treatments have been shown to improve cognitive function by modulating MGBA,providing a better modern interpretation of TCM for the treatment of cognitive disorders. |
