Abstract
[Objective] To explore the anxiety and depression status of patients with spastic torticollis(ST) and its correlation with traditional Chinese medicine constitution. [Methods] A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 290 ST patients using the Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS),and the Classification and Judgment Criteria for Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution. The degree of anxiety and depression emotions and the proportion of traditional Chinese medicine constitution types were recorded. Logistics regression analysis was used to investigate the relationship between anxiety, depression, and traditional Chinese medicine constitution. [Results] Anxiety and depression were prevalent in 290 ST patients. The top three traditional Chinese medicine constitution types are qi deficiency constitution(22.1%),pinghe constitution(21.4%),and yang deficiency constitution(17.9%). Anxiety is positively correlated with traditional Chinese medicine constitution(P<0.05,r>0). Taking pinghe constitution as the control,Logistics regression analysis shows that qi deficiency,qi depression, phlegm dampness, yang deficiency, and yin deficiency are risk constitutions for anxiety(P<0.05,OR>1). In contrast, depression is positively correlated with traditional Chinese medicine constitution(P<0.05,r>0). Qi deficiency,qi depression, and yang deficiency are risk constitutions for depression(P<0.05,OR>1). [Conclusion] Anxiety and depression were prevalent in ST patients, and the distribution of constitution is mainly biased constitution, with qi deficiency, yang deficiency, and qi depression accounting for more. Qi deficiency,qi depression, phlegm dampness, yang deficiency, and yin deficiency are dangerous constitutions for patients experiencing anxiety, while qi deficiency,qi depression, and yang deficiency are dangerous constitutions for depression.
