Abstract
|
Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD) is one of the most common metabolic diseases and has become the most common liver disease in China. With the progression of the disease,it will have many negative effects on the body and health, such as impaired liver function. MAFLD can lead to hepatitis, liver fibrosis, and even cirrhosis and liver cancer. MAFLD can also lead to metabolic disorders in the body, thereby affecting energy metabolism and insulin resistance, and inducing diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. A growing number of studies have shown that mitophagy can degrade damaged or aged mitochondria, maintain the quantity and quality of mitochondria in organisms, and play a very important role in the progress of MAFLD. Studies have shown that some traditional Chinese medicines and compounds can treat MAFLD by regulating the mitophagy pathway. This article reviews the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine regulating mitophagy in the treatment of metabolic-related fatty liver disease, and provides reference for the future prevention and treatment strategies of the disease. |
