Abstract
|
[Objective] To explore the effect of ear scraping combined with mindfulness therapy on sleep disorders in hospitalized patients with advanced lung cancer. [Methods] A total of 128 advanced lung cancer patients with sleep disorders who were treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to January 2024 were randomly divided into four groups:hospice care group, ear scraping group, mindfulness therapy group, and combination group, with 32 cases in each group. Interventions included palliative care, palliative care with ear scraping, palliative care with mindfulness therapy, and palliative care with ear scraping and mindfulness therapy. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and Quality of Life Inventory(EORTC QLQC-30) were measured in four groups at the weekend of week 0 and week 4,and the clinical efficacy rate was calculated. [Results] After 4 weeks of intervention, the PSQI scores of all 4 groups of patients decreased(P<0.05),and the EORTC QLQ-C30 score increased(P<0.05). The PSQI score of the ear scraping group was lower than that of the mindfulness therapy group(P<0.05),and the EORTC QLQ-C30 score of the mindfulness therapy group was higher than that of the ear scraping group;the combination group had the best improvement effect, with a lower PSQI score than the other three groups(P<0.05),and a higher EORTC QLQ-C30 score than the other three groups(P<0.05). The effective rate of the combination group was significantly higher than that of the ear scraping group and the mindfulness therapy group. [Conclusion] Ear scraping combined with mindfulness therapy can effectively improve tumor related insomnia symptoms in advanced lung cancer patients, and improve the overall quality of life of patients from both physical and mental aspects. |
