Abstract
Neuroplasticity is one of the important mechanisms for the recovery of patients with cerebral infarction, and it is also a hot spot of current research. In recent years, acupuncture can regulate neuroplasticity from multiple pathways and targets to improve neurological damage after cerebral infarction. In this paper,we summarize the literature on the treatment of cerebral infarction by acupuncture in the past decade and find that acupuncture can play a therapeutic role by regulating synaptic plasticity, endogenous neurogenesis, axonal regeneration, and the expression of neuroplasticity-related proteins and neurotrophic factors, and review the above mentioned mechanisms, which is aimed at providing references for the participation of acupuncture in the treatment of cerebral infarction and other chronic, major neurological diseases.
