Abstract
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) is a chronic lung disease that occurs repeatedly and is difficult to cure. Clinical studies have shown that acupuncture can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of COPD and improve lung function, which is an effective means to treat COPD. Clarifying the mechanism of acupuncture treatment for COPD can guide clinical practice. Through searching the basic research literature of acupuncture treatment of COPD in recent years, this paper summarized its main mechanism of action involving the following aspects:inhibiting inflammation;regulating immune cell imbalance;inhibiting oxidative stress;regulating matrix metalloproteinase-9/metalloproteinase-inhibitor-1 levels;enhancing diaphragm function;inhibiting MUC5AC(MUC5AC) expression in airway epithelial cells mediated by epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) -p38 mitogen activated protein kinase(p38MAPK) signaling pathway. The mechanism of acupuncture treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was expounded from the above perspectives, aiming to provide a basis for future related research.
