| [Objective] To analyze the effect of Qingfei Huatan Decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine external application on the syndrome score and lung function level in mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia（MP） children with wind phlegm obstruction syndrome. [Methods] A study was conducted on 78 children with MP who were clinically admitted to hospitals from February 2023 to January 2024. They were randomly divided into control group（39 cases） and study group（39 cases） by digital drawing. They were treated with conventional Western medicine，Qingfei Huatan Decoction，and external application of traditional Chinese medicine for 10 consecutive days. The symptom scores，therapeutic effects，lung function [forced vital capacity（FVC），forced expiratory volume in the first second（FEV1），expiratory flow rate at 75% and 50% vital capacity（FEF75，FEF50）]，inflammatory indicators [C-reactive protein（CRP），neutrophil ratio（NEU%），and lymphocyte count]，ratio（LYM%），immunoglobulin A（IgA），immunoglobulin M（IgM） levels，and safety were compared between the two groups. [Results] There was no statistically significant difference in the scores of primary and secondary symptoms between the two groups before treatment（P>0.05）. After treatment，the scores of primary and secondary symptoms in the study group were lower than those in the control group（P＜0.05）；the treatment effectiveness rate of children with MP in the research group was higher than that in the control group（P＜0.05）. There was no statistically significant difference in lung function indicators between the two groups before treatment（P>0.05）. After treatment，the study group had higher FVC，FEV1，FEF75，and FEF50 compared to the control group（P＜0.05）；before treatment，there was no statistically significant difference in the levels of inflammatory factors between the two groups（P>0.05）. After treatment，the CRP and NEU of the study group were lower than those of the control group，while the LYM was higher than that of the control group（P＜0.05）；there was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of IgM and IgA between groups before treatment（P>0.05）. However，after treatment，the comparison of immune index levels between groups showed that the IgM and IgA levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group（P＜0.05）；there is no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups（P>0.05）. [Conclusion] Qingfei Huatan Decoction combined with Chinese herbal medicine can effectively reduce MP children’s syndrome points，and inflammation levels，can effectively promote the recovery of lung function，improve immunoglobulin levels，and high safety. |
