Abstract
Insomnia is one of the major diseases that plague human daily life, which can lead to a series of physical and mental problems and exert a significant impact on patients’ life and health. In response to insomnia,Professor ZHANG Boli, established the theory of three-type syndrome and treatment, classifying insomnia into three types:“yang failing to enter yin”,“yin failing to astringe yang”,and “essence failing to nourish spirit”. Specifically, the concept of “Xulao insomnia” was proposed, targeting the type of “yin failing to astringe yang” and developed a complete theoretical system of syndrome differentiation, treatment and prescriptions. This paper introduces the concept, etiology, pathogenesis, syndrome characteristics, therapeutic principles and methods of Xulao insomnia,as well as the traditional Chinese medicine formula Anshen Formula and the proprietary traditional Chinese medicine preparation Anshen Dropping Pills developed for this disease, aiming to provide references for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of Xulao insomnia.
