Research progress on pain attack network and acupuncture analgesia mechanism in diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Abstract
    Diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is one of the complications of diabetes characterized mainly by symmetrical pain in the limbs. The pain attack of DPN is characterized by a directional feature from the periphery to the central nervous system,that is, peripheral nerves form continuous pain signals,which are transmitted to the central pain matrix through afferent nerves,forming central pain sensitization. Acupuncture alleviates DPN pain through anti-inflammatory,antioxidant effects and regulation of synaptic connections in central nuclei,and provides modern imaging technology evidence to support this. This review provides a theoretical basis for the clinical application of acupuncture intervention in PDPN.
